The ASU Foundation exists to ensure the success of ASU as a New American University.

The foundation is a private, nonprofit organization that raises and invests private contributions to Arizona State University. It is one of Arizona’s oldest nonprofits. It coordinates and directs all major fundraising campaigns on behalf of ASU, its colleges and schools and manages private assets. The foundation also serves as the university’s entrepreneurial arm in technology commercialization, real estate investment and other emerging initiatives.

  • We serve. We serve the faculty and staff of ASU to bring them resources so they can do all the great things that they do.
  • We engage. We engage our donors, philanthropists and investors, connecting them to ASU and helping them share their time, talent and treasure.
  • We innovate. We’re always looking for new ideas, new solutions, new approaches, and new ways to address the challenges facing ASU.
  • When we serve, engage and innovate, it shows that we care — about faculty, staff, donors, fellow employees and other partners as we bring resources to ASU.

This is our passion. This is what we do.

In 2015, the foundation supported ASU with:

  • 101,424 donors who make a difference.
  • $41.7 million in student financial aid.
  • $25.6 million for academics and research.
  • More than $500,000 from ASU parents through the Sun Devil Family Association for an emergency crisis fund for students, scholarship support, free tutoring, and a Thanksgiving dinner for students who can’t make it home for the holidays.
  • 3,300 hours of community service donated through the SDFA.
  • $86.7 million to support Sun Devil Athletics, including $19.2 million to reinvent Sun Devil Stadium as not only a premier venue for athletics events, but also an event hub for year-round use.
  • 12 ASU faculty start-up companies, 270 invention disclosures and 62 US patents secured, facilitated through the ASU Foundation’s subsidiary AzTE, the exclusive intellectual property management and technology transfer organization for ASU.
  • $100,868 raised by students, faculty, and staff for their projects through PitchFunder, the foundation’s crowdfunding website.
