ASU at the Tempe campus
Today’s engineering educational focus differs greatly from that of ASU students in 1954 when the first engineering programs in the College of Applied Arts and Sciences were established. Today, students in the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering are actively involved in project-based learning, use information technology daily in their studies, take biology courses as part of the curriculum and align their goals closely with the needs of today’s industry.
The Fulton School of Engineering at ASU provides students the knowledge and skills they need to achieve success in a technically oriented career. ASU has earned a position among the top 50 graduate and undergraduate engineering programs nationally by U.S. News & World Report.
The engineering school also houses nearly 20 research centers, institutes and focused programs, and participates in a number of university initiatives, including the Biodesign Institute at ASU, Decision Theater and the Flexible Display Center.
Eight academic units comprise the Fulton School of Engineering:
- Chemical and materials engineering
- Civil and environmental engineering
- Computer science and engineering
- Del E. Webb School of Construction
- Electrical engineering
- Harrington Department of Bioengineering
