KAET/Channel 8

ASU at the Tempe campus

For more than 40 years, KAET/Channel 8 has provided educational, informative and cultural programming for Arizonans. Eight has received numerous national and local awards for its original programs including Emmys for Over Arizona, Read Earth, Thieves of Time, Monumental Arizona and Barry Goldwater: Photographs & Memories.

Today, KAET reaches more than 1.9 million viewers each week. More than 80 percent of Arizonans can watch KAET via broadcast, cable, satellite or translator. KAET also broadcasts simultaneously in digital and analog formats.

A trusted community resource, KAET enriches the lives of Arizonans through quality programs and educational services that inform, inspire and entertain.

  • More than 450,000 children tune in to KAET kids' programming each week.
  • Through workshops and book distribution, KAET's Ready to Learn service has helped more than 13,000 children begin school ready to learn.
  • In 2005, more than 405,000 students were helped by KAET in partnership with ASSET (Arizona School Services through Educational Technology) and 25,000 teachers utilized ASSET's resources.
  • KAET GED programs help adults get their high-school diplomas and many students earn college credits through ASU's telecourses.

KAET is a member-supported service of Arizona State University and relies upon membership support to help provide our community with quality television and educational services.
