ASU at the West campus
The New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at ASU prepares students to take their places as independent thinkers and active participants in a rapidly changing world. Its programs provide the skills necessary for effective expression and a greater understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures, both past and present.
The New College imparts to its students a sensitivity to the artistic dimensions of human expression and the natural environment, as well as provides them with a greater understanding of scientific inquiry. An integrating theme of New College is a focus on social concern and community engagement.
New College offers 20 undergraduate degrees: American studies; applied computing; applied science; English; ethnicity, race, and first-nations studies; history; integrative studies; interdisciplinary arts and performance; life sciences; political science; psychology; social and behavioral sciences; sociology; Spanish; and women’s studies. A master’s degree program in interdisciplinary studies is also available through New College.
