School of Educational Innovation
and Teacher Preparation

ASU at the Polytechnic campus

The School of Educational Innovation and Teacher Preparation program began in 1998 with a class of 18 elementary education students. Today, there are more than 500 education students at the Polytechnic campus of ASU enrolled in a variety of undergraduate, graduate, certification and professional development programs.

Designed to offer students the courses and educational experiences necessary to successfully complete the requirements for a degree in education, the School of Educational Innovation and Teacher Preparation provides innovative experiences in local schools, fosters individual excellence and builds expertise by immersing students with leading experts in education.

The education programs are unique in their focus on technology, intensive field experience and the practical application of current theory. A newly revised curriculum focuses on and is directly aligned with Arizona's standards for teachers. Elementary education students are immersed in field experiences each semester that directly link with course discussions and assignments. Faculty draw on experience from a variety of K-12 settings, augment class experiences with practical applications, and incorporate current educational technologies into their courses.
