So you want to raise money at ASU?
The ASU Foundation wants to help!
First, let's answer a few questions:
What is the ASU Foundation?
The ASU Foundation ensures the success of Arizona State University as a New American University by supporting all fundraising at ASU. The foundation's Office of Annual Giving provides assistance to students, staff and faculty who would like to raise money for a project.
Do I have to use the foundation to raise money?
In order for your donors to be able to claim their gifts as charitable contributions, yes. Better yet, the ASU Foundation has the experience, resources and tools needed to connect with supporters and successfully raise funds in support of ASU.
Really? So exactly what can you do for me?
IRS regulations, stewardship, gift receipts, data analysis, online giving, donor segmenting, crowdfunding, social media strategies: there can be a lot to consider when it comes to fundraising. The ASU Foundation can help you manage all of the above and more — we’re here to help.
Let’s work together on behalf of ASU
The process for raising money may differ depending on all sorts of factors: funding need, existing resources, potential audience ... there’s no one, cookie-cutter way to connect with supporters. There are tools, strategies and best practices for fundraising, however — and the ASU Foundation can provide you with those resources.
Here’s how to get started:
For what projects or activities can the foundation help raise money?
We can help with all kinds of projects and activities that have a beneficial link to ASU, and would love to discuss the details of your fundraising wants and needs. Contact us at 480-965-6754 to get the conversation started.
What can’t be counted as a charitable contribution through the ASU Foundation?
You can’t raise money for an individual student to cover tuition or travel costs.
You can’t hold a raffle or other game of chance.
To ensure your fundraising efforts follow IRS regulations and can be counted by your donors as a charitable contribution, contact the Office of Annual Giving at 480-965-6754.
What about crowdfunding?
We got this.
The ASU Foundation is out in front when it comes to crowdfunding and is building one of the few programs in the country devoted to students, staff and faculty who want to use the power of personal networks and digital tools to raise money for ASU projects and organizations.
Why use the ASU Foundation for crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is not as easy as waving a magic wand or setting up a website,
but the ASU Foundation's program is designed to provide the help and tools you’ll need to raise funds in support of your project or organization at ASU.
Contact the ASU Foundation’s Office of Annual Giving to learn more about ASU's crowdfunding program: 480-965-6754.
