ASU Alumni Association

The ASU Alumni Association serves and unites ASU’s worldwide alumni base of more than 320,000 Sun Devils. Through events, services and a strong membership program, the association seeks to create a stronger alumni and university community. Membership is open to all alumni and ASU supporters.

The association serves as the university’s tradition-keeper. It honors ASU’s history by sponsoring the annual Founders’ Day celebration, by recognizing the 50-year alumni class at Golden Reunion and by sponsoring Homecoming events.

Serving the alumni of ASU is at the heart of the ASU Alumni Association’s mission. It communicates with alumni through ASU Magazine, newsletters, e-mails and social media accounts, as well as the alumni website. The association facilitates an active network of 90-plus alumni chapters and clubs and offers a range of benefits to its members.

The association connects the next generation of Sun Devils to ASU through Sun Devil Generations, a family organization dedicated to introducing the children of university graduates to ASU, and through the Student Alumni Association, which builds connections between current students and alumni. Students in the final year of their undergraduate degree program are invited to participate in the Senior Year Experience, which offers career seminars, social events, volunteer activities and other resources on all four campuses.

The association also connects with students by offering scholarships, including its signature Medallion Scholarship program, a scholarship and service opportunity available to high-performing Arizona high school students. The Medallion program is funded by the sales of ASU collegiate (“Sparky”) license plates in Arizona. More than 14,000 plates are on vehicles across the state and support this ASU scholarship. Students who are relatives of dues-paying members of the association are eligible for the organization’s Legacy Scholarship.

The Alumni Association also continues its tradition of sponsoring programs that better the university. The organization hosts ASU Day at the Capitol, a legislative advocacy event, and engages in membership campaigns to bring additional alumni into the association, which helps ASU increase its alumni giving rate.
