The Office of Veteran and Military Academic Engagement is collaborating with several ASU units and Stadium 360 to create an opportunity for student and faculty veterans, along with veterans from the community, to participate in the DIAVOLO Veterans Project. The mission of this project is to utilize DIAVOLO's unique style of movement as a tool to help restore veterans' physical, mental and emotional strengths through workshops and public performances in communities all around the world.
During a two-week residence at ASU, artistic director Jacques Heim and his staff will train a team of local veterans to trust one another, to go beyond what they physically imagine they can do, to choreograph a series of movements and dances, and to make a public performance at the stadium. Your gift to the DIAVOLO Veterans Projects helps fund this unique opportunity for our local veterans.
“I was diagnosed with PTSD when I returned from Iraq, and there was a moment early on in DIAVOLO rehearsal where I realized it was the first time I have truly felt at peace since returning from war, and I’ve been back a decade.”— Christopher Loverro, U.S. Army
