Learn more about your impact

Your gifts to the Elizabeth Swanlund Endowment support the co-curricular activities of students in the American Humanics Program at ASU, including staffing, out-of-classroom leadership enrichment projects and program expenses as deemed necessary by the AH program leadership to organize and conduct such activities.

The Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, formerly American Humanics, is a student organization housed in the ASU Lodestar Center and the School of Community Resources and Development, part of ASU's Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions. Its main purpose is to develop students into skilled nonprofit leaders by assisting them in earning their CNP credentials. It was founded in 1980 as a chapter of the American Humanics program, which became the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance in 2011. ASU won the NLA's Campus Program Excellence Award in 2018.

Impact of Donor Support

  • More learners can pursue higher education. In 2022, 22,000 donors contributed $66.3 million for scholarships.
  • More students succeed. ASU ranks #1 among the state’s public universities for its 86% first-year retention rate thanks in part to donor-funded student success initiatives.
  • And donors helped ASU offer more than 4,500 hours of free tutoring.

Our family believes in giving back and sharing the blessings we have received financially and through our time."
