The Varsity Sports Research Lab runs the ASU Sports Fandom Summer Program. The programs' goal is to use the business of sports to show students how marketing and fan engagement can co-exist through analytics and data. Students learn from some of the tops sport's analytic companies, meet business operations team members and present a small group project be the end of the program. Donor support makes this program possible and provides students with career advantages.

If supported by donors, this initiative will have a transformative impact on students by equipping them with both academic and professional skills essential for success beyond the classroom. Donor support would enable the lab to offer high-quality research experiences, personalized mentorship, and targeted professional development workshops—helping students build confidence, refine their career goals, and become competitive candidates in the job market. Additionally, funding would allow for expanded partnerships with industry, nonprofits, and government organizations, creating opportunities for students to apply their work in meaningful, real-world contexts.
