Communities and households in rural or isolated locations are an important yet challenging customer segment to provide sustainable and equitable water and sanitation services to. Many service providers serving ‘last mile’ clients operate at a budgetary breakeven point and response mode, limiting the ability to use their direct knowledge of local problems to develop long-term, innovative solutions. Our goal is to unlock this knowledge for innovation within these service providers by creating a shared research and development service resource leveraging donated funds to rapidly co-design, test and scale critical solutions.
