Learn more about your impact

Pat Lauderdale served as an esteemed ASU faculty member for more than 40 years. He collaborated in creating the nation’s first university-wide PhD/JD program in justice studies, law and the social sciences and served as its director. Lauderdale’s research on the relationship between social deviance, law and diversity is recognized internationally. His book Law and Society (with James Inverarity and Barry Feld) has been translated into Japanese and related research on the political analysis of deviance has been published in Spanish, German and Italian. Throughout his personal and professional life, Pat cared deeply about exposing injustice and improving the lives of exploited and marginalized people, defined as "deviant" via societal constructions and social control. Your gift to the Pat Lauderdale Graduate Scholarship in Justice Studies supports doctoral students in the School of Social Transformation with a focus in Justice Studies.

I believe ASU is a major life force in our community and I want to do my part to help it thrive."
