The Institute of Human Origins has established a new research funding program for its faculty, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, thanks to a generous donation made by IHO Executive Board member David Deniger, and Mara Michelle-Batlin.
This funding program will provide seed grants (individually or as a team), intended to develop a proof-of-concept for researchers so that they can further develop their project and apply for external grants. IHO faculty, postdocs and graduate students in the three research focus groups are eligible and can submit proposals that develop a novel research idea that could fill knowledge gaps in the human story (biological, behavioral and cultural), and if successful in developing a succinct research problem and purpose, could lead to writing a highly competitive research proposal that will attract substantial external funding.
I believe ASU is a major life force in our community and I want to do my part to help it thrive."
