The Women Leaders in Sports Media program is a live-learn community that provides undergraduate students with a network of like-minded, high-achieving women pursuing a Sports Journalism degree at the Cronkite School. Eligible students benefit from a range of community-building experiences, professional development opportunities and more. Your generosity helps provide exclusive programming throughout the year, including guest speakers and special outings, mentorship, community building resources and student membership to the Cronkite chapter of the Association of Women in Sports Media.

Impact of Donor Support
- 56% of first-year students at Cronkite during the 2022-2023 academic year are pursuing a sports journalism degree.
- Cronkite sports journalism students receive hands-on experience in the Cronkite News Phoenix Sports Bureau, where they cover sports in the heart of the nation’s fifth-largest city. Phoenix is home to teams from all five major sports leagues, a Big 12 university, two college bowl games, PGA and LPGA tournaments, NASCAR and spring training headquarters for half of the teams in Major League Baseball.
- Students have the opportunity to cover major sporting events around the world and have reported from the Olympic Games in London and Rio de Janeiro.
