The challenges we face today are so complex that they can seem overwhelming, leading to inaction. Whether the priority is generating enough energy in the future, reducing homelessness, improving health outcomes, or increasing economic development opportunities in tandem with educational pipelines for optimal employment, these are complex systems that interact and can no longer be treated in silos. Decision Theater exists to give these topics the robust, interconnected approach they deserve, provide clarity amid that complexity and surface insights and discussions that lead to alignment and clear courses of action. We do this by bringing people and data into a shared immersive environment to explore “what-if” scenarios together, make impacts and tradeoffs visible, test assumptions and build a shared understanding of impacts before decisions are made.
Within that work, this gift closes a critical gap: many of the communities and public-serving groups that would benefit most from this kind of decision support cannot afford it on their own. Funds are needed to cover data analysis and integration, interactive model and dashboard development, immersive visualization technology and the workshops and facilitation that ensure the tools are trusted, usable and grounded in local reality. Your financial support will proactively underwrite the development and delivery of these tools and experiences so they can reach the places where needs are greatest, not just where budgets allow. It will also support student research aides who gain hands-on training while advancing real-world outcomes.
