Back in 2008 at the start of the Great Recession, my wife and I decided to set up an endowment for ASU Football. It was time to return the favor and give back to the program. Despite economic headwinds, it was in my heart to do something special for the program.
I owe most of my business and broadcasting success to the coaches, staff and teammates that believed in me. Accordingly, we named the scholarship endowment in memory of our head coach, Darryl Rogers, and it all comes full circle that our endowment helps fund walk-on’s tuition once they are awarded a full-ride scholarship.
I was fortunate and ended up playing in a few football games as a backup. Suffice to say, it was an experience of a lifetime–not the playtime, but competing every day with some of the most talented players in Sun Devil history. This opportunity gave me the belief that through hard work and preparation, along with being a team player, anything is possible."
