Your generous support towards the Jordan A. Hibbs Scholarship Fund will provide scholarship support for transfer students coming to study at Barrett, The Honors College from a Maricopa Community College who have overcome challenges in their journey to higher education. Growing up, Jordan’s family faced extreme poverty and she witnessed domestic abuse in her home. For many years, Jordan’s family lived in subsidized housing, depended on food stamps and searched dumpsters for clothing and supplies. Through working a full-time job, earning scholarships, and getting financial aid – Jordan was able to attend Scottsdale Community College and transfer to Barrett, the Honors College. Hibbs scholars will receive an award of $1,000 to help cover their tuition expenses and Barrett fees.
As someone who has carefully balanced tight finances while pursuing my associate degree in business at Estrella Mountain Community College, this scholarship will go a long way in easing my financial stress and helping me focus more on my academics. Thanks to your generosity, I can now look forward to being more involved in student life."
