Learn more about your impact
The Kmetty Civil Engineering Innovation Fund is used on an annual basis to provide for undergraduate student clubs within the Civil, Environmental and Sustainable Engineering Department. Your generosity gives students a chance to advance their exposure to real world experiences and opportunities.
This fund is in honor of Géza Kmetty, who passed away at the end of 2021. Kmetty fled his home during the Hungarian Revolution and was admitted to the United States. In the 1960s, he earned a degree in civil engineering from ASU and started a family with his wife Esther. Over the next half century, Kmetty became a technical expert and business leader, driving innovation in emerging areas of engineering. Kmetty also taught and mentored new generations of engineers. Through generous donations, he helped situate ASU’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at the forefront of innovation in the United States.
