Arizona State University is a leader in innovation and one of the fastest-growing research enterprises in the U.S. As the first university to partner with OpenAI, we launched the AI Innovation Challenge in 2024, activating 220-plus ChatGPT Edu projects. The Spark Center for Innovation in Learning* leverages this entrepreneurial and tech-enabled ecosystem to shape the future of learning. Thanks to your generous support, the center will take this work to the next level with three focus areas:
AI Collaboratory for Learner Success. This first-of-its-kind collaborative laboratory will advance the discovery and dissemination of AI-powered, evidence-based interventions for neurodivergent populations through five dedicated AI studios: streamlining diagnosis, aiding K–12 education, assisting students in university life, transitioning to independent adulthood and a venture studio to support startup development.
Technical AI training. Training in AI-based tools will equip educators and health care workers with the skills and resources to provide best-in-class education and clinical interventions for neurodivergent populations.
Global AI Competition. The Global AI Competition is an open call to startups for AI-driven solutions for neurodivergent learners. Winning teams will join the collaboratory to further their work.
