Autism is one of the leading health concerns among children in the United States. Today,1 in 36, or 3%, of children nationally are diagnosed with autism. Due to the rapidly growing number of children dealing with this neurological disability, scientists are working to better understand the nature of autism and how to treat its symptoms. Through analysis of the neurobiological effects and microbial studies, scientists found a correlation between gut microbiome and autism. At ASU, scientists and researchers made ground-breaking discoveries that show treatment of the gut microbiota can help reduce autism symptoms. With your support we can continue to expand our scientist’s research and open new doors for new innovative treatments.
