The fund honors the life and legacy of Lisa DeVar-Krpata, a beloved member of the W. P. Carey School of Business community. As a dedicated staff member in the Department of Marketing, Lisa brought an unwavering passion, warmth and sense of purpose to her work, touching the lives of students, faculty and colleagues alike. Her deep commitment to student success reflected her belief that every student deserved the opportunity to thrive and be supported in their educational journey. Lisa was best known for her love of family, and her ability to light up any room she entered. Her joyful presence and genuine care for others enriched every space she was in. Whether at home, at work or cheering from the stands at an ASU football game, Lisa was an enthusiastic Sun Devil through and through, and her love for ASU, especially Sun Devil football, was second only to the love she had for her family and her students. Born in Pontiac, Michigan, and a proud graduate of ASU and the University of Phoenix, Lisa pursued education with purpose, earning both her Bachelor’s in Education and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction. Her educational journey and career embodied her belief in lifelong learning, mentorship and community. This scholarship reflects Lisa’s enduring passion for W. P. Carey marketing students and her legacy as a wife, mother, grandmother and devoted ASU supporter. Through this scholarship, Lisa’s spirit of kindness, dedication and Sun Devil pride will continue to uplift and inspire future generations of W. P. Carey students.
