Learn more about your impact

In 1958, Gordon Rogers fell in love with Arizona when he boarded a plane in Michigan on a cold grey winter morning and got off that plane on a warm sunny winter afternoon. He adored the desert landscape and the glorious light. But, family ties kept him in Michigan until 1983 when he finally made Arizona his full time home. His design talents can be seen in his commercial work like Crystal Point Condominiums and Regency On Central, but he’s best known for his residential work throughout The Valley of The Sun, as well as Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Colorado, Texas, Michigan and even Trinidad. He taught at Taliesin West and loved to nurture inspiration and talent in his students. Gordon was a member of Arizona Residential Architects (ARA), the founder of which, Nick Tsontakis, an ASU Architecture School graduate, created this scholarship to continue Gordon’s legacy of design excellence.

At The Design School, we are pushing the boundaries of what design is through interdisciplinary programs, global studios, and strong relationships with industry partners and our local community. Our donors are vital partners in this journey, helping to further our mission of increasing access to education, fostering collaboration, and nurturing growth across a range of creative sectors—including design, arts, media and technology. Each contribution increases our ability to help our students thrive. Every gift, no matter how small or big, makes an impact.”
