Learn more about your impact

The Next Education Workforce™ is an approach to strategic school staffing that aims to improve outcomes for educators and students. Schools form teams of educators with distributed expertise to replace conventional the one teacher per classroom staffing model. When educators work together to support a shared roster of students, they’re able to better meet the needs of students — and enjoy more satisfying, successful and sustainable careers.

Early research on this approach shows promising results.

Educators in Next Education Workforce models:

  • Have lower turnover rates
  • Receive higher evaluation scores
  • Are more likely to recommend the teaching profession
  • Are more satisfied
  • Report better teacher-student interactions
  • Collaborate more
  • Feel more supported and less lonely

Students served by Next Education Workforce teams:

  • Made 1.4 more months of reading growth in 3rd grade than students in traditional models
  • Report strong relationships with their teachers
  • Collaborate with both their teachers and peers

Impact of donor support

  • More learners can pursue higher education. Thanks to our donors, more than 7,000 ASU students have received upwards of $32 million in scholarships with more than $39 million raised.
  • More students succeed. ASU ranks #1 among the state’s public universities for its 86% first-year retention rate thanks in part to donor-funded student success initiatives.
  • Important initiatives continue. More than $320 million in new gifts and commitments support ongoing initiatives at ASU.
  • The spirit of generosity abounds. In the past year, more than 100,000 individual, corporate and foundation donors stepped forward to help the ASU community.

  • $50 gives one student access to a Next Education Workforce model.
  • $250 provides professional learning for a team-based educator.
  • $750 sends an educational leader to attend a two-day Next Education Workforce site visit.
  • $1000 builds a team of educators within a K-12 school

Teachers can create more engaging instruction for their students by leveraging everyone’s expertise or strength in pedagogy across the team. When professionals can collaborate and work together in a shared learning space, the rigor and real-world application of learning is increased.
