Film and Media Studies Scholarship Fund

Learn more about your impact

Now, more than ever, we need artists, administrators, organizers and writers who are trained and willing to take risks in media and storytelling. Without private support for this fund, talented ASU students will be left out of opportunities for professional experiences in the competitive and influential film and media industry.

The Film and Media Studies Scholarship, based on merit and need, benefits undergraduate or graduate students in the Department of English who are completing professional experiences in the film and media industry. Funds support student expenses associated with internships or film festival attendance, such as transportation costs. Participants to such events gain valuable exposure to the business side of the film industry, the chance to meet and collaborate with filmmakers and opportunities to participate in premieres, screenings, panel discussions and more.

Impact of Donor Support

  • More learners can pursue higher education. In 2022, 22,000 donors contributed $66.3 million for scholarships.
  • More students succeed. ASU ranks #1 among the state’s public universities for its 86% first-year retention rate thanks in part to donor-funded student success initiatives.
  • And donors helped ASU offer more than 4,500 hours of free tutoring.

I believe ASU is a major life force in our community and I want to do my part to help it thrive."
