The Adelaida and Barry Severson Cronkite Global Initiatives Fund supports Cronkite students to be savvy, world-class graduates who are also productive citizens of their country and their world.
Impact of Donor Support
- The Cronkite School is home to the only Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship program in journalism in the United States, which brings mid-career journalists and professional communicators from developing countries to the Cronkite School each year for a 10-month academic experience.
- Cronkite Global Initiatives conducts research and journalism and media training programs globally through public and private partnerships including the U.S. State Department, American Embassies worldwide, and USAID.
- As part of the Cronkite School’s global initiatives, students have covered the Olympic Games in London and Rio de Janeiro and traveled across Europe, Asia and South America, visiting global media companies and cultural landmarks.
