Learn more about your impact

The Black Graduate Student Association's (BGSA) mission is to foster and support the unique journeys of Black graduate students. BGSA accomplishes this by providing scholarship opportunities, encouraging personal and academic development, participating in activism, facilitating mentorship connections, and encouraging collaborations with community-based initiatives. BGSA advocates for the interests of Black graduate students across all four ASU campuses, with a focus on building a unified network. Giving to the Black Graduate Student Association helps the organization empower and champion Black graduate students, ensuring they have the resources and community they need to thrive at ASU and beyond. Your contribution enables BGSA to create safe and welcoming spaces for scholars of color to connect, collaborate, and cultivate a sense of belonging within the university and larger community.

Impact of Donor Support

  • More learners can pursue higher education. In 2022, 22,000 donors contributed $66.3 million for scholarships.
  • More students succeed. ASU ranks #1 among the state’s public universities for its 86% first-year retention rate thanks in part to donor-funded student success initiatives.
  • And donors helped ASU offer more than 4,500 hours of free tutoring.

Our family believes in giving back and sharing the blessings we have received financially and through our time."
