Brian and Leah Swanton Urban Planning Scholarship

Learn more about your impact

Brian and Leah Swanton met for the first time in their first ever ASU class in 1991. Both passionate about their professional careers in urban planning and proud Sun Devils, the Swantons established the Brian and Leah Swanton Urban Planning Scholarship with the School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning to encourage students who intend to utilize their work in the urban planning field to positively impact distressed communities across the US, while helping to create social equity amongst low-income populations. Your gift will support students interested in utilizing their urban planning degree toward equity issues.

Impact of Donor Support

  • More learners can pursue higher education. In 2022, 22,000 donors contributed $66.3 million for scholarships.
  • More students succeed. ASU ranks #1 among the state’s public universities for its 86% first-year retention rate thanks in part to donor-funded student success initiatives.
  • And donors helped ASU offer more than 4,500 hours of free tutoring.

Our family believes in giving back and sharing the blessings we have received financially and through our time."
