Sun Devil student-athletes strive for excellence in the classroom and on the field, but managing both academic careers and athletic performance presents unique challenges. The Don Bocchi Student-Athlete Excellence Fund — named for the recently retired senior associate athletics director who served ASU for almost four decades — supports the Office of Student-Athlete Development. The OASD provides services, programming and guidance that help student-athletes achieve academic success, develop critical life skills and prepare for life beyond intercollegiate athletics. Your generosity ensures that Sun Devil student-athletes realize their full intellectual, professional and personal potential.
Impact of Donor Support
- More learners can pursue higher education. In 2022, 22,000 donors contributed $66.3 million for scholarships.
- More students succeed. ASU ranks #1 among the state’s public universities for its 86% first-year retention rate thanks in part to donor-funded student success initiatives.
