In memory of Michael Vincent Sanders, this scholarship provides meaningful support to an undergraduate English major each year, keeping Michael's legacy alive at ASU.
Michael received his Bachelor of Arts in English from The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1996. He loved writing and knew his English degree would be foundational to his professional success. Before his passing, Michael was the Director of Career Services within the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, passionately helping students launch their careers. He was a Sun Devil, through and through.
Michael lived fully for the people he loved and touched the lives of everyone who knew him. Funny and quick with a story, he had a gift for bringing people together. He cherished his friends and family and will be deeply missed.
Michael welcomed everyone as family — he never met a stranger, made every person feel seen, and served ASU with quiet, unwavering devotion. His warmth and dedication left the campus and our hearts forever better for having known him.”
