The Office of Sex Trafficking Intervention Research is in the School of Social Work within the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions. The STIR office, opened in the spring of 2013, is comprised of academics, researchers and law enforcement partners who research domestic sex trafficking to inform the work of those who have regular contact with victims and perpetrators.
In November 2017, the office collaborated with the City of Phoenix and various community partners to open Phoenix Starfish Place, the nation's first long-term housing project for human trafficking victims.
Your support will enable the office to continue its research initiatives and community collaborations.
