About the Arizona State University Foundation

The ASU Foundation is a separate, nonprofit organization that raises, invests and manages private funds to benefit Arizona State University. The foundation coordinates and directs all major fundraising campaigns on behalf of ASU and its colleges and schools and currently manages assets exceeding $756 million. It also serves as the university’s entrepreneurial arm in technology commercialization, real estate investment and other emerging initiatives.

Arizona Technology Enterprises (AzTE) falls under the foundation’s umbrella in the area of technology commercialization. It is ASU’s private technology transfer company and a wholly owned subsidiary of the foundation. AzTE’s mission is to develop new ventures based on ASU innovations, create strategic linkages with local and global business communities, and foster venture capital and angel investment in ASU’s spin-out companies.

SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center, and the ASU Brickyard comprise two of the foundation’s largest real-estate ventures. Both projects generate revenue for ASU and are managed in part by the foundation.

The ASU Foundation is one of Arizona’s oldest 501(c)(3) organizations and is governed by a volunteer board of trustees who provide oversight, leadership and counsel.
