Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law

The ASU Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, founded in 1967, has earned a reputation for academic excellence and innovative programs. Its graduates include United States congressmen; magistrates and judges, including an Arizona Supreme Court justice; a state attorney general; secretary of state; a mayor of Phoenix and partners in prestigious law firms.

The Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law is committed to innovative teaching and scholarship. Students learn from a faculty of scholar-teachers who maintain one of the most productive records for scholarship, research and publication of any public law program in the nation. The college ensures that faculty can get to know the students, especially through many small classes and seminars.

In addition to a strong general program, the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law offers the following three unique and distinguishing leadership programs:

  • The Clinical Program is among the most comprehensive in the nation. Seven hands-on clinics provide graduates with the skills needed to succeed. The clinics include the Civil Justice Clinic, Criminal Practice Clinic, Immigration Law and Policy Clinic, Indian Legal Clinic, Mediation Clinic, Public Defender Clinic and the Technology Ventures Clinic.
  • The Indian Legal Program provides education, leadership and public service to Indian governments. Students attend courses and seminars that specialize in tribal issues and receive specialized employment opportunities and externships.
  • Founded in 1984, the Center for the Study of Law, Science and Technology is the oldest, largest and most comprehensive research center dedicated to bridging the knowledge gap between the scientific and technical community and the law.

The Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law offers students cutting-edge academic and clinical experiences through its dynamic and talented faculty and research scholars. As a result, the college is forging the new legal frontier, having produced scores of distinguished graduates who have served or are serving important and prominent roles in our community.
