Sun Devil Legacy Society — Celebrating Major Gifts
Recognizing ASU Athletics donors as part of our winning team
ASU Athletics has the best fans in intercollegiate sports. When a Sun Devil supporter hears a call for action, they pitch in — with incredible generosity. Because they know that champions do not rest, they build. The Sun Devil Legacy Society recognizes those who step up to the plate, contribute a major gift or pledge and build more than 500 ASU student-athletes into champions.
- Building projects and upgrades — ASU broke ground on the Weatherup Center, a $19.5 million indoor basketball practice facility in April 2008.
- Program enhancements — ASU completed a new Sun Devil Football locker room during the summer of 2008.
- Scholarship endowments — The Steve and Linda Loy Scholarship Endowment provides funding to an ASU Men’s Golf Team member each year, covering the costs for a student-athlete to attend school at ASU.
Membership
Major gifts are the lifeblood of the Sun Devil Legacy Campaign. Similar to private businesses, ASU Athletics operates with the revenue it receives. Rising scholarship costs, escalating team travel expenses, much-needed facility renovations and construction, recruiting and retaining quality coaches, and ample academic services for our student-athletes all require financial stability if ASU is to compete as a champion at the conference and national level.
A gift of $10,000 or more to ASU Athletics grants members entry into the Sun Devil Legacy Society. Members enjoy benefits including:
- Exclusive events with coaches and administrators
- Campus recognition in ASU Athletics’s annual Maroon and Gold magazine and on the donor recognition wall in the Carson Student Athlete Center
- Priority season ticket seat and parking location (if also participating in the Sun Devil Club annual giving program)
